Here is what I have been focused on these past few days.
I have a Small job assisting the Local Ski Hill, Coordinate a much needed Renovation on the Chair lift.
One of the components (of the Job) is to replace the Communication Wire on the Chairlift.
This entails getting a Roll of Telephone type Wire to the Top of the Chairlift... (about 2,000 lbs)
Since it is very hard to get a Telephone Service Truck to the Top of the Chair at this time of Year, (early April) I have "Borrowed" a big Steel Sled or a Rod Sloop from our Local Diamond Drilling Company... (thank you Hytech Drilling)
Next, I rented a Big Wire Reel Stand and mounted that on the Rod Sloop.
The Telus Wiring Technicians wanted a Braking system on the Roll of Wire to eliminate the Chance of a BIG TANGLE....
All the Timber Cribbing on the Rod Sloop is to get a 6x6" block of wood to Rub on the Rim of the Wire Reel when hydraulic pressure is applied - a "Friction Brake"
See the Photo Essay.
